Creative Connections with the Land: Eco-art & Herbalist Workshop Series

All community members interested in exploring creative ways to listen to and connect with the land are welcome to a workshop series combining eco-art and herbalism.

Workshop 1: Listening to the Land’s Stories
Tuesday, June 25, 2019 ~ 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Macroom Pitch and Put Club House

We will begin with a mindfulness activity to bring awareness to our sensory experience in nature, followed by a self-guided walk nearby to work with natural materials for art making. We will regroup to make our own art pieces, and “listen to the land” by exploring and sharing any meaning or stories which may emerge from the art.

Workshop 2: Connecting Creatively with the Land
Saturday, June 29, 2019 ~ 10:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Macroom Pitch and Put Club House

Is there a plant or a tree that attracts you? Learn how to connect and work with it, and tune in to what lessons it may share. Beginning with a guided meditation, we will go to the park to experience the plant or tree calling our attention, and interact with it in creative ways. Everyone is welcome to share their experience when we regroup.

Workshop 3: Giving Back to the Land
Saturday, June 29, 2019 ~ 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Macroom Pitch and Put Club House

The land offers us so much and one of the best things we can give back is appreciation. We welcome you to give back with us in making an art creation for a piece of land that has been impacted by human demand. Let’s make art together, of the land, for the land!

Details

As most of the activities will be outside, please be sure to bring walking shoes, any food you may need and dress for the weather. Shelters and washrooms are available on location.
