Individual Professional Development

1:1 online, outdoors & at your office

Let’s work together, one-on-one, to explore what you need to in the workplace, supporting your professional development.  We can meet online, where you can connect from the comfort of your home or office. We can also meet in person on the land around Powell River on the Sunshine coast in British Columbia.  Packages and half/full day sessions available.

1:1 Professional Development

Ever step outside for a walk, and feel how all that stress and busyness falls away?  Or find your flow to have that moment of inspiration and clarity finally land? What if you could foster and maintain these “aha!” moments and apply it at work?

We will work with you to learn and practice the tools you need to have these moments of clarity, focus and connection for the issues you face in the workplace. Especially if you feel like decision-making in your organization and with others is complex, layered with divergent interests and stagnation.

Intentionally using a creative, land based approach can improve workplace culture, innovate decision making and encourage sustainability. It can also deepen our organizational capacities to engage in genuine relationships with Indigenous communities, cultivate corporate social responsibility (CSR), build strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) structures, generate sustainable climate solutions and achieve net-zero.

Working with creative, land based practices, we’ll empower your experience in the workplace so that you can:

  • Innovate decision making

  • Plan confidently

  • Collaborate effectively

  • Holistically explore possibilities

  • Cultivate sustainable, genuine relationships

  • Gain meaningful perspective and clarity on a course of action

  • Feel inspired and encouraged

  • Identify resources and feel refreshed

What you can expect

  • We’ll begin with a complimentary discovery call, where we can get to know each other and work together to craft a plan to meet your needs and priorities at work.

  • Tailored nature-based and creative suggestions will be offered to support your explorations in each session.  Spontaneity and intuitive play are welcomed!

  • A series of 8 sessions, spaced one or two weeks apart, are highly recommended to find a comfortable rhythm for a deeply dedicated and grounded support your professional journey.

  • Sessions are held online (in PST) or in person outdoors if located around Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

  • Intentional time spent outdoors and engaging in a creative process are recommended prior to online sessions, where we will explore what’s emerging for you.

  • Outdoor sessions will occur in all weather (except when hazardous), and involve walking, talking (if desired), and either a spontaneous or suggested creative exploration.  We will work with locations that compliment your needs and priorities.

  • As a professional environmental arts therapist, I work according to the Canadian Art Therapy Association’s Code of Ethics, and receive regular supervision.  You will be asked to fill out an intake and consent form prior to working together.

Sarah embodies myth and storytelling. She has an encyclopedic memory bank of stories that span cultures across the world, and she knows how to connect these ancient stories to our modern times.”

get at what is really important

“Working with the land is nurturing, it helps you to practice mindfulness and quiet your thoughts in order to get at what is really important.  It helps one to gain clarity.  I find that when I go into nature with a question (or even to find out what the question is in the first place) being in nature can help to center myself in what would be right for me at that time.  Connecting with nature is a way to bring yourself back into relationship with the earth, yourself and others.  I found when I treated the land with respect and honour, it helped foster my respect and honour for other human beings.”
